Sunday dusk is the hinge of the week. I have made a private pact to close the laptop, silence the phone, and let the evening belong to paper, stretch, and vinyl.
A Pact, Not a Performance
The point is not purity. If a friend texts, I answer. What I refuse is the scroll that masquerades as rest. A novel, a long stretch on the floor, an instrumental record — these return a Sunday to itself.
Keep a notebook by the chair for the thoughts that used to go into a notes app. Monday morning feels less like an ambush when Sunday night was actually night.
